A Trust-Based Hierarchical Consensus Mechanism for Consortium Blockchain in Smart Grid

چکیده
As the smart grid develops rapidly, abundant connected devices offer various trading data. This raises higher requirements for secure and effective data storage. Traditional centralized management does not meet above requirements. Currently, with conventional consortium blockchain can solve issues. However, in face of a large number nodes, existing consensus algorithms often perform poorly terms efficiency throughput. In this paper, we propose trust-based hierarchical mechanism (THCM) to problem. Firstly, design improve Then, intra-layer nodes use an improved Raft algorithm inter-layer Byzantine Fault Tolerance algorithm. Thirdly, trust evaluation method election process Raft. Finally, implement prototype system evaluate performance THCM. The results demonstrate that is by 19.8%, throughput 12.34%, storage reduced 37.9%.

A Review on Consensus Algorithms in Blockchain
Block chain technology is a decentralized data storage structure based on a chain of data blocks that are related to each other. Block chain saves new blocks in the ledger without trusting intermediaries through a competitive or voting mechanism. Due to the chain structure or the graph between each block with its previous blocks, it is impossible to change blocking data. Block chain architectur...

Smart Grid is the trend of next generation electrical power system which makes the power grid intelligent and energy efficient. It requires high level of network reliability to support the two-way communication among electrical services, electrical units such as smart meters, and applications. The wireless mesh network infrastructure can provide redundant routes for the Smart Grid communication...
متن کاملDifficulty control for blockchain-based consensus systems
Crypto-currencies like Bitcoin have recently attracted a lot of interest. A crucial ingredient into such systems is the “mining” of a Nakamoto blockchain. We model mining as a Poisson process with time-dependent intensity and use this model to derive predictions about block times for various hash-rate scenarios (exponentially rising hash rate being the most important). We also analyse Bitcoin’s...
متن کاملPrivacy-Preserving Smart Grid Tariff Decisions with Blockchain-Based Smart Contracts
The smart grid changes the way how energy and information are exchanged and offers opportunities for incentive-based load balancing. For instance, customers may shift the time of energy consumption of household appliances in exchange for a cheaper energy tariff. This paves the path towards a full range of modular tariffs and dynamic pricing that incorporate the overall grid capacity as well as ...
متن کاملBlockchain Consensus
In this paper, we present a new definition of Byzantine consensus that applies to blockchains, applications that allow to transfer digital assets through transactions. More precisely, a blockchain is a distributed abstraction where participants must reach a consensus on a unique block of transactions to be appended to the chain. This new consensus definition requires a validity property based o...
